Hello, I'm artist Alina Litvinova, curator of the exhibition STUDIO, sponsored by John Preston Trust.

The idea of ​​the STUDIO exhibition came to me after reading the book by Daniel Buren – “The Function of the Studio”. Artwork lives a completely different life depending on its space. A look into the STUDIO (not literally, any place where the artist created his work) of the artist will help to better understand both the artist and the artwork itself.

The John Preston Trust (JPT) is a small, independent grant-giving charity based in Scotland which was set up to support young people who are actively engaged in either Music or the Visual Arts.

I decided to write an application that I wanted to organize an exhibition STUDIO for displaced artists. And I won a grant that will cover the rent of a gallery space and will allow all participants to receive £100 to develop an art career.
